What is Dry Mouth?

Quite simply it is the sensation of dryness in the mouth, often your saliva is sticky and you may feel constantly thirsty but no matter how much you drink, your mouth is hoarse and dry. This is caused by a decrease in the amount or ‘quality’ of saliva.
You may not even know you’re suffering as symptoms can appear gradually over time and be sporadic in nature. It may not be picked up by a doctor – especially if they do not look in your mouth. Dentists, dental hygienists, dental therapists are more likely to identify dry mouth.
